If you are going to spend $3.50 a gallon on gas shouldn't you be driving something
you really love?
At Performance Car Factory we provide a unique level of craftsmanship and customer service.
We are not a huge shop working on a variety of cars all at once. We focus on one or two
projects a year to provide the highest level of finished product through customer
interaction and satisfaction. Working with us you are contracting a build team focused
on your project from start to finish.
This unique project is a "take no prisoners, cost is not an object" build. Pete Schmit
and his Dad Nick wanted to build something really spectacular. Here it is - an LS7
powered Corvette packed with the latest technology and hardware wrapped in classic
"60s styling. This project took 18 months to build and the car owner was critical
in every decision that pushed this car to the highest standard. The power and
handling are breath taking and the style of mid year Corvettes is timeless. The owner
raves about the incredible capabilities of the car and enjoys driving his unique hot rod
anywhere, anytime. This car draws a crowd wherever it goes and is a car you can actually use
every day (weather permitting!)
This is the shop project car. The objective is to build the equivalent of an L-88 car using
subtle improvements that look as close factory circa 1968 while improving all areas of
performance. This is a basic shark bodied Corvette painted in Sikkens products with the
latest from Vette Brakes underneath. The engine is a classic of the muscle car era - the
venerable big block Chevy. This engine is unique in that it has all modern parts under the
covers. Fully ported heads, lightweight coated pistons, large roller camshaft, fully roller
valve train etc. etc. This engine has 600 horsepower potential and is currently fitted with
a wide band oxygen sensor to tune the HP950 carb for best drivability.
